Finding it hard to stay consistent?

When I first started my business, I had a hard time staying consistent with my most important tasks. Probably because I had no idea what those actually were. 😉

I would…

  • Spend a bit of time futzing with my website
  • Attend a networking event
  • Read a chapter in a book that was way past what I needed at the time
  • Create social media posts
  • Email my list when I felt inspired to write.

Nothing is wrong with any of these activities except…

  • I used futzing with my website as an excuse because it made me feel like I was accomplishing something
  • I’d attend a networking event but never follow up with any of the people I met
  • I wouldn’t finish the book and/or implement what I learned
  • I’d create the social media posts but never actually post them.
  • I was only INSPIRED to write every few months or so.

Maybe you can relate?

If so, here’s what to consider…

It may be a lack of clarity.

It’s very hard to stay consistent when you’re not clear about what you want and/or what your best next step is.

(psst… I can help with that)

It may be fear.

You may be afraid to put yourself out there, of what people will think (or say).

Do your best to focus on serving others. Being helpful. Focus less on how you appear to others.

The people who need what you have to share will love what you have to share.

It may be imposter syndrome.

You may have these questions come up: “Who am I to help them with this issue?” or “What if they find out that I don’t know what I’m doing?” or “What if I can’t help them?”

Understand that NO ONE escapes imposter syndrome. It’s part of growing as a human being. And guess what. It’s not real.

You are worthy. You do have value. The people you’re meant to serve need you.

It may be exhaustion or overwhelm.

Get clear on when you do your best work and plan your activities to match. And make sure to give yourself planned breaks and days off. If you don’t, you’ll find yourself taking them anyway. But they’ll be unplanned and not nearly as restorative as they could be.

It may be that you’re not taking your way of working into account.

Are you the type of person that needs to work on one project until it’s done? Or do you do better when you can mix things up and work on several projects in a given day so you don’t get bored.

Do what works for you. Not what others say you should do.

Take a moment and think about each of these. See if they resonate.

And if you’d like my help on getting clear about your best next step, so you can eliminate overwhelm and make significant progress in your business, I invite you to book a Coach Action Plan.

Several years ago, I signed up for a course on selling from a coach who promised we could increase our conversion rates by 50%. That would be amazing if it were true. But it wasn’t.At least for me. About every 10 minutes in the course, I thought, “There’s NO WAY I’m doing that.”Her approach was hard selling at

Tired of selling yourself as a coach?

Yesterday a gal on Instagram sent me a DM after she’d read one of my posts… “What the heck is a coaching framework?” Great question! If you’ve been around for awhile, you’ve probably heard me mention how important it is to have your own proprietary, unique to you coaching framework. But… what exactly is it? Simply put, a Coaching Framework

A few days ago, I was talking with a friend who’s been struggling to find new clients. She’s a very smart and accomplished woman. She’d led a very successful career working her way up the ladder in a well-known Fortune 500 company. And then she left her corporate career to go off on her own and start
