These are the 6 website mistakes I see coaches make when first getting started...
- 1They fuss over the domain name.
- 2They futz with it for way too long.
- 3Their website is all about them.
- 4They stress over the logo.
- 5They stress about their "brand."
- 6They have an "If I build it, they will come" kind of attitude.
Yesterday, I talked about #1.
Today, I'd like to talk about #2
2. They futz with it for way too long.
What do I mean by futzing?
Well, things like...
Basically the things that your clients or potential clients could care less about.
If you’re spending a majority of your time futzing with your website, you might be using it as an excuse so you don’t have to put yourself out there.
I say this from experience.
Working on your website can make you feel like you’re doing something productive for your business.
However, you don’t need much and it doesn’t have to be perfect. Having a nicely designed and professional website is necessary. But once you get it to that point, it’s best to leave it alone.
And the design isn’t nearly as important as what you say.
If you're going to do any kind of futzing with your website, you want to futz with the copy — your message.
That's where you're going to be able to make the most impact.
And that's what we'll talk about in tomorrow's blog post.
With love & joy,
P.S. Is there someone in your life who could benefit from reading this post? Why not share this with them?
